Personal Biography
Yasmine is an Egyptian Singaporean, has lived in 6 countries and has always been at the crux of various cultural and spiritual influences. She loves learning new things; her curiosity has exposed her to a wide array of interests ranging from travelling, cycling, hiking and water sports.
She is constantly improving herself, evolving and pursuing her passion of making a difference through helping build the synergy between their mind, body and soul thus creating a balanced and contented life for themselves. She believes she can best impact the world by improving the quality of people’s lives and helping them realize their potential and achieve the right spiritual balance.
She aspires to be a life and start up coach, travel planner and facilitator in the creation of positive change agents.
She aims to live by her grandfather’s words of wisdom:
“I can leave you with property, it can be lost,
I can leave with money, it can be spent,
I can leave you with education, and it will always be your friend”
Training Background
Yasmine’s training experience started in 2005, when she took part of AIESEC’s World on Wheels project, where she worked with over 500 Estonian youths and conducted workshops on goal setting, team work and cross cultural understanding.
She then worked on developing and conducting training material for the American interns in Egypt who were taking part in AIESEC’s cross cultural internship program called Salaam. During her third year in university Yasmine partook in the study abroad program with Simon Fraiser University in Canada; there she leveraged her experience in training and led a team of fellow SFU student as “International CafĂ©” coordinator for the student organization Engineers without Borders. Her roles and responsibilities included facilitating monthly discussions on sustainability.
Yasmine has facilitated international – over 100 participating countries –, regional – over 15 participating countries – and national leadership development conferences, as well as cultural preparation seminars, train the trainer workshops, experiential learning retreats in Egypt, Estonia, Morocco, Tunisia, Singapore, and Turkey.
Areas of Interest
As can be surmised from the nature of her extra-curricular work and activities; Yasmine has a strong interest in cross cultural understanding, leadership, youth development, empowerment, sustainable development, interfaith, happiness and spirituality.
Philanthropist
While living in Cairo, Yasmine has been active within the Cairo community; participating in development projects in high school and university. She was also involved in the Afro-Asian Woman Center where she partook in their fundraising initiatives to support children with cancer was able to fundraise over EGP 60,000 through raffles tickets, bake sales and donations.
Latest Endeavour
Yasmine has co-founded a project called Gone Cyclin' in which she is currently raising funds of SGD 50,000 for charity by participating in an intensive 5-day 450km mountain bike race called Tour De Timor in East Timor.
